GK Football Players and Parents,

I hope this message finds you healthy and enjoying the summer. We will be taking the rest of July off from Zoom meetings. We will get together in August by Zoom or hopefully in person with modified groups. Below is the update from Bethel School District and WIAA. 

Bethel School District Summer Information:

* No practice until phase 3

* Summer contact weight training or modified practice only if BSD reaches phase 3

* Summer packets will be sent when we apply for phase 3 as a county - That will mean all information will need turned around quickly

* Each student and family will have additional waivers to be signed for summer activities

* There will be some training provided for the cleaning of space and equipment

* A COVID training will take place on Safe Schools - Requiring a certificate

WIAA Information:

The WIAA Executive Board took action on July 7th, 2020 to push back the start date for fall sports.  The action was taken in an attempt to relieve pressure on member schools as they prepare for the opening of schools to in-person and/or online learning.  The current dates to commence fall sports practices are September 5th for football.  These starting dates (Saturday of Labor Day weekend) allow for contests to begin as early as September 18th.
 

On July 21st, the Executive Board will review other options for fall sports should further delays become necessary, with an announcement to be made on July 22nd.  In the interim, a planning committee made up of Executive Board members, WIAA staff, and representatives from WIAA member schools will review possible options and make recommendations.
 

The Executive Board recognizes this recent action creates many questions, and it will work to provide answers on July 22nd.  In the interim, we suggest schools avoid any rescheduling of games in Arbiter until a decision is made on how the delayed start impacts the fall season.

The weather was perfect for our Graham-Kapowsin Eagles as they dominated the fields on Saturday, June 15th.  Many of our players were scouted by colleges and this Tournament showed the skills and talent of our full team, both offensively and defensively.  The GK Eagle program also fed a few hundred College Coaches, High School Coaches, Officials, and of course....our own boys, the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles!  That is over 300 sandwiches!
